Marzia Mancin

Marzia earned an M.Sc in Statistical and Economic Science at the University of Padua and an M.Sc in Biostatistics and Experimental Statistic at the University of Milan Bicocca. She gained a specialization course in Medical statistics and clinical epidemiology at the University of Verona.

Since 2002, she has been working as statistician at the Istituto Zooprofilattivco Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe, Italy) collecting 18 years of experience in the field of statistics applied to the veterinary sector and food safety. She has co-authored more than 40 papers published in national and international journals.

Her principal activity is to provide statistical support on data analysis for national and international projects especially with regards to food safety, Avian influenza/Newcastle disease and rabies. She has always improved her knowledge with continuing education, attending advanced statistical courses to meet at her best the challenging goals in every working projects.

Ms Mancin is the statistician in charge of the international (FAO and OIE) proficiency testing on Avian influenza/Newcastle disease, rabies and Salmonella and national proficiency testing AQUA of IZSVe. She is a member of the technical committee for the ISO/TC 69 “Applications of statistical methods”.
Ms Mancin has also experience as statistical trainer in national courses organized by IZSVe and by the Statistic department of University of Padua.

My Sessions

Basic Statistics (08:30 – 10:30)

In the training course, the basic principles of statistics necessary for statistical evaluation of PTs will be explained, starting from an explanation of data distribution and how to draw that, e.g. with a histogram. Different types of position and variability indexes will be provided to summarize the data. The normal distribution, its important properties and […]

Further Statistics (11:00 – 13:00)

The training will focus on the more sophisticated statistical techniques described in ISO 13528:2015. Robust techniques for the estimation of mean and standard deviation – Algorithm A, Qn method and Q/Hampel method – will be explained and can be compared in an exercise using an Excel programme provided. The principles of kernel density estimation and […]
